Nas ondas da lembrança: entre velhice e infância

摘要

Old age and the passage of time are recurring themes in literature and may also be analyzed by children. This article analyzes the poem As duas velhinhas [The two old ladies], written by Cecília Meireles (1990), from the layers that make up the poetic text. After the structural analysis of the poem, the study establishes relationships with other texts with a similar theme, and signals a dialogue between different manifestations of poetic production. The theme selection presents itself as a possibility to treat the subject, even for young readers, since, even from children’s perspective, the texts show a distinct gaze at the aging process, though they have not been produced for children.
